Unfortunately, in the 1940s, a number of unfortunate bridge accidents occurred in Sweden due to u-formed bolts used for the steel wire ropes. During a trip to the United States, a Swedish engineer was inspired to solve the problem. The Swedish engineer named Lundqvist developed and patented a unique wire rope clip (the first of its kind in Europe). The product became the cornerstone of a number of products that made the company market leader in the field in Scandinavia.
