Good advice before use - Lever Hoists

A Lever Hoist is used for pulling, positioning, and, of course, lifting loads, so it is important that you inspect your pulley block to ensure that it performs optimally while maintaining safety.
Before using your waste hoist, we recommend that you check the following:
• Check the test label to see whether the waste hoist has been inspected within the last 12 months. This is indicated by color codes.
• Check that the waste hoist is CE marked and that the hoist is marked as complying with EN 13157.
• Check whether the waste hoist has been painted white – this indicates that it has been discarded and should therefore not be used.
• Check for damage, cracks, dents, or other deformations. For example, make sure the handle is not bent.
• Inspect the hooks for defects caused by overload or heat, and we recommend inspecting the pin on the hooks and checking that the hooks can rotate freely.
• Check that the end stop is still in place.• Inspect the chain of the waste detail for heat damage and check that the chain links are not deformed.
• If the waste detail has wire instead of a chain, check for kinks, bends, bird nests, or rust.
• Listen for unusual noises, which may also indicate a defect in the waste detail.
Labeling:
WLL: The waste disposal unit must be labeled with WLL. Do not use it if you do not know how much it can lift.
The sling must be marked with the manufacturer, model, and serial number, indicating that it complies with all standards and safety requirements in the field.
This is how much force (via the handle) must be used to lift 1.5 tons on selected slings:
WDL Lever Hoist – 1.5 tons: 22 kg
Hadef Lever Hoist type 53/07 – 1.5 tons: 25 kg
Kito LB pulley block – 1.6 tons: 34 kg
