At Fyns Kran Udstyr, our team has a tailor-made system for calculating budget prices and offers - this is why many experience a much faster response time with us compared to others on the market. At the same time, we also have a strong team of local consultants who can easily visit your company and look at the exact challenges you are facing. At the same time, they also have the opportunity to take the correct measurements so that the new crane fits perfectly. Finally, we also have a dedicated team that exclusively sets up and installs new cranes. They have therefore been through many of the challenges that can arise when a crane has to be installed and know all the precautions that must be taken. Which brands do we sell?

At Fyns Kran Udstyr we are proud to give our customers the opportunity to buy cranes from the best brands on the market. This applies, for example, to Finnish ERIKKILA, which is known for its Jib Cranes, Hoist Tracks and light Overhead Cranes - we have sold systems from ERIKKILA since the 90s and we have delivered countless solutions from the small local blacksmith to large Danish multinational companies. In 2018, ERIKKILA was sold to Japanese KITO – and this must certainly be seen as an underlining of the quality of the cranes. Another well-known brand that we are proud to present is the German ABUS Kransysteme GmbH , which is among the world's leading manufacturers of cranes and hoists. ABUS cranes are sold all over the world, have a modular structure and consist of quality components that are designed and produced in the German factory where the cranes are delivered from. ABUS produces all types of cranes, but is particularly strong on Overhead Cranes over 2 tonnes. Another strong brand in our portfolio is German VETTER Krantechnik which has a broad range om cranes, but it is especally cranes with electric swirvel in which the brand exceeds.

How long does it take to set up a crane?

There are many factors that affect how long it takes to set up a new crane. However, it is our experience that many customers are surprised by how quickly it can be done. The time varies depending on the type of crane. Eg. our light Overhead Crane Systems often have to be bolted together, which helps to shorten the assembly time. Our recommendation is that you contact our crane team, then they can advise on how long a specific crane type takes to install and test load.

How much does a crane cost?

A crane does not have a fixed price. There are an incredible number of factors that influence the final price of the crane, such as type, size, capacity, type of hoist, choice of extra equipment, etc. However, we can often quickly give you a budget price when we have a few relevant information about your crane to base it on.

Service and statutory inspection of cranes

At Fyns Kran Udstyr, we can of course also help with the statutory inspection of your new crane or existing cranes. We have around 30 service units on the Danish roads and of course we cover the whole of Denmark.

There are a large number of different crane types, which you will find at the top of this page. In the next sections, we will try and review each crane type with a brief description, characteristics and when you should choose the type in question.

Jib Cranes

A Jib Crane is often mounted on a column or wall. Depending on the location, they are often also called Column Mounted Jib Crane or Wall Mounted Jib Crane. Some of our models can also be delivered movable or mobile - however, the vast majority are delivered permanently mounted on a column or wall. From the base, a spreader is mounted that can be swung in the working area of ​​the Jib Crane. For larger loads, a Jib Crane can also be supplied with an electric swivel so that the user is free to 'swing' the load manually. A Jib Crane is most often equipped with an Electric Chain Hoist, however, we also supply Jib Cranes with e.g. a manual Chain Hoist.

WHICH CHARACTERISTICS DOES A JIB CRANE HAVE?

• A Jib Crane is often not a big investment compared to other cranes.
• An obvious choice if many subjects are handled in one place.

HERE YOU OFTEN MUST CHOOSE A JIB CRANE:

A Jib Crane is ideal at 'workstations', e.g. where a load is lifted from a pallet to a CNC machine or similar. Wall Mounted Jib Crane are a good choice in a work area where you don't want a column that takes up floor space. This is, of course, provided that the wall where the crane is mounted is able to withstand the load. A Column Mounted Jib Crane is an obvious choice as it often offers greater flexibility in relation to the location. The Jib Crane is therefore also the most popular choice.

Overhead cranes

A Overhead Crane consists of longitudinal carriageways. It is often the type of crane you see in the ceiling of productions.. The Overhead Crane itself can have many different constructions and is often laid on top of carriageways on each side by the columns that hold the building. However, some solutions are also supplied with free-standing columns when the building construction cannot withstand the load of a crane. Overhead Cranes are often motorized and are often operated via wireless radio control. Overhead Cranes are often equipped with a Chain Hoist and smaller dimensions are often equipped with an Electric Chain Hoist.

WHICH CHARACTERISTICS DOES A TRAVERSE CRANE HAVE?

• They do not take up space in the work area.
• They often cover a large area.

HERE YOU OFTEN MUST CHOOSE A OVERHEAD CRANE:

A Overhead Crane is the obvious choice when you want coverage in the entire given working area. The Overhead Cranes are often used for larger items, as well as areas where a large span is required, such as over 8 meters or a lifting capacity over 2,000 kg.

Light overhead crane

A Light Overhead Crane has the special characteristic that they are typically not motorized (although they can easily be supplied as such). In short, the term Light Overhead Crane comes from the fact that the cranes with a lifted load are often so frictionless that the load can be moved manually by the user. If heavy loads are moved many times a day, many customers choose to get a motorized version. Light Overhead Cranes often consist of the same profiles as, for example, Jib Cranes, and thus this type of crane has many of the same advantages, e.g. built-in Trolley. The lightweight Overhead Cranes are often mounted in the building structure via various types of brackets. However, it is also possible to have a Light Overhead Crane mounted on free-standing columns. A Light Overhead Crane is in the vast majority of cases equipped with an Electric Chain Hoist.

WHICH CHARACTERISTICS DOES A OVERHEAD CRANE HAVE?

• Lightweight Overhead Cranes do not take up space in the work area.
• They cover a large area without taking up space in the work area.

HERE YOU OFTEN SHOULD CHOOSE A LIGHT OVERHEAD CRANE:

If your load weighs less than 2,000 kg and your Overhead Crane does not require a span of more than 8 metres, a Light Overhead Crane is the obvious choice if you want to cover a work area - without taking up unnecessary floor space. There are a lot of advantages with Light Overhead Cranes, such as a lower price, the possibility to move the solution, easy installation via bolt connections, as well as the possibility to expand the solution.

Hoist Track

A Hoist Track, also called a Mono Track often consists of a profile, which is also used for the Light Overhead Cranes. However, it can also consist of an H- or I-beam. Regardless of the specific type, the Hoist Track is equipped with a Beam Clamp or Trolley and a suitable Hoist . Hoist Tracks are often used in areas with a permanent need for crane coverage.

WHICH CHARACTERISTICS DOES A FAUCET TRACK HAVE?

Hoist Tracks are often a cheaper alternative if you only need crane coverage in a narrow working area.

Can be supplied with basket and changing track if the same type of profile is used.

HERE YOU OFTEN MUST CHOOSE A FAUCET:

Hoist Tracks are an obvious choice if you can see that the coverage area suits your needs. Depending on the type, Hoist Tracks can be equipped with curves as well as changing tracks.

Gantry Crane

A Gantry Crane is shaped like a portal. Gantry Cranes can be both stationary or mobile, and they can also be constructed as a Semi-Gantry Crane, i.e. where one part is mounted on the floor and the other side is mounted, e.g. a wall.

WHICH CHARACTERISTICS DOES A PORTAL CRANE HAVE?

• A Gantry Crane or Semi-Gantry Crane can save space.
• The Gantry Crane's wheels can often be locked.

HERE YOU OFTEN MUST CHOOSE A GANTRY CRANE:

You can choose a Gantry Crane if the building where the Gantry Crane is to be placed does not meet the requirements for the crane tracks or there is a need for the space occupied by any columns.

Mobile Gantry Crane

A Mobile Gantry Crane is often used for smaller loads and, like the larger Gantry Cranes, often used in productions. This type is often used for installation of items or assembly where a great deal of flexibility is required, or that the crane must be able to be used in changing locations. Several models in our product range can be separated and therefore easily transported - therefore many models are also made of a lighter material such as e.g. aluminum. Mobile Gantry Cranes can be equipped with or without wheels. As a user, however, you must be aware of whether the Mobile Gantry Crane can be moved with a load - not all models are designed for this.

WHICH CHARACTERISTICS DOES A MOBILE GANTRY CRANE HAVE?

• A Mobile Gantry Crane is often the most mobile crane type.
• Many models can be easily dismantled and moved to new locations.
• Many models, when dismantled, can be stored in relatively little space.

HERE YOU OFTEN MUST CHOOSE A MOBILE GANTRY CRANE:

If you need a crane in several locations or carry out installation or assembly tasks where a relatively large lifting capacity is needed, a Mbile Gantry Crane is an obvious choice.

Davit Crane

A Davit Crane can have many different designs and usage scenarios. Eg. Davit Cranes are used for lifeboats on board ships, as well as as permanent installations on wind turbines etc. Davit Cranes are often characterized by relatively short deployments. Davit Cranes from our range are available both stationary and mobile, where they can be mounted in different types of bases. Especially the mobile part of the product range, which is popular with our customers. Here, one crane can be used in many different bases and it is particularly popular at Wastewater Utilities, where maintenance of pumps is carried out. Davit Cranes are often equipped with a Manual Wire Rope Winch or an Electric Wire Rope Winch .

WHAT ARE THE CHARACTERISTICS OF A DAVIT CRANE?

• Available both as a stationary and mobile solution.
• With a mobile solutions, the same crane can be used in many different locations.

YOU SHOULD OFTEN CHOOSE A DAVIT CRANE HERE:

If you need a crane in predetermined locations and the lifting capacities of our range fall within your needs - then a Davit Crane can be an obvious choice. Please note that some models in our range can also be equipped with bases on wheels, which can help to increase the possibilities of use.

Vacuum Lifter

A Vacuum Lifter has an incredible number of applications. They are also called i.a. for trunk lifts etc. and they are used to lift loads made of wood, metal, glass, plastic, cardboard, paper etc. - in short, most things are possible, as long as the load is sufficiently airtight. Vacuum Lifters are often used in places where many repeated lifts are made by a user. Both Vacuum Lifters and Vacuum Lifting Beams have in common that they are typically mounted in a Jib Crane or a Light Overhead Crane.

WHICH CHARACTERISTICS DOES A VACUUM LIFT HAVE?

• Vacuum Lifters provide good ergonomics for the user and a more efficient working day - Vacuum Lifters make the load 'weightless' and therefore make handling super easy for the user.
• Vacuum Lifters can be installed in existing solutions or delivered including a crane designed for use with the solution.

YOU SHOULD OFTEN CHOOSE A VACUUM LIFT HERE:

A Vacuum Lifter or a Vacuum Lifting Beam is an obvious choice at a workstation or in a production where many repeated lifts are carried out - almost regardless of the type of item being handled by the user. Part of our range also consists of mobile solutions that e.g. can be mounted on an electric stacker.

Hoists for cranes

A Hoist is typically located in a Trolley. There are a large number of different types of Hoists, e.g. Chain Hoists , Lever Hoists, Electric Chain Hoists , Manual Wire Rope Hoists and Pneumatic Hoists. What all the hoists have in common is that they are used to carry out the lifting - regardless of the type of crane involved.
