Good advice before use
When you receive your new lever hoist, you should always read the user manual - lifting heavy loads or items can be dangerous if not done properly and safely. If you use a lever hoist, we suggest that you ensure the following: * That the lever hoist parts are free of deformations, wear or visible damage. * That the lever hoist is correctly marked with manufacturer, WLL, CE and identification number. * That there is no wear damage to the hooks * That there is no damage to the load chain and that the individual chain links are not deformed or rusted. If one or more of the above damages are present, you should and must not use the garbage detail.

How to use a lever hoist
Before the load is lifted, you must ensure that people in the work area are informed and are at an appropriate distance from the object. * Never lift more than the capacity of the lever hoist. * Never use the chain of the lever hoist as a sling around the load. * Do not extend the handle. * Do not use unnecessary force to operate the lever hoist. When lifting and pulling: Turn the knob on the handle to the mark often referred to as 'UP', indicated on the lever hoist. To lower or release: Turn the knob on the handle to the 'DOWN' mark, as indicated on the lever hoist. Neutral: When the button is in neutral, it is possible to adjust the length of the load chain, and the chain can be quickly pulled through the hoist. The function can ONLY be used when the hoist is not loaded. Remember: The load must lifted in a straight lift.

Is it worth buying a used junk detail?
Are you considering buying a used lever hoist? You may be lucky and find a used lever hoist in good condition - we suggest that you at least go through our list above with good advice before using to assess the condition. REMEMBER also to check when the lever hoist had the required statutory inspections carried out. Also remember that the lever hoist can easily be used or abused after the statutory inspection and it can therefore be a very good idea to ask the seller to have this done before you buy the used lever hoist.
