The nationwide construction company, JORTON A/S, has many ongoing projects in Denmark. We visited one of them on a rainy morning at a construction site at Esbjerg Harbour, where JORTON was busy with the concrete work in connection with the construction of two new wharehouses. During the visit, our conversation included on how JORTON focuses on safety, the unique self-propelled Montalift cranes and not least why the company has Fyns Kran Udstyr as a business partner.
A long and trusting collaboration
The collaboration between JORTON and Fyns Kran Udstyr spans many years. Mads Jensen has been at JORTON for 16 years, and has collaborated with Fyns Kran Udstyr "for as long as he can remember." says Mads Jensen and elaborates on the collaboration with Fyns Kran Udstyr: "We are happy about the collaboration. It is a relationship full of trust and good humor. You are reliable and skilled business partners. Things are always under control, and it's nice that contactperson from your service department calls when it's time for the statutory inspections ." He continues: "All you have to do is send the list to Helle, and then she will control the process."
In addition to the statutory inspections, Fyns Kran Udstyr and JORTON have also collaborated to make several specially designed lifting beams for lifting reinforcement. " We came up with a drawing and then your technical department went to work," says Mads Jensen. In addition, JORTON was also among some of the first customers to buy the smart LudwigHooks , which, with a radio-controlled disconnection function, save the rigger from having to disconnect manually. "It's safer and saves time", says Mads Jensen.
Unique cranes with flexible applications
During the visit, the site was full of pile driver machines and the self-propelled Montalift cranes, which, with their flexible application options, have become a big favorite with Material Manager Mads Jensen. In fact, the cranes have become such a big favorite that JORTON has become a Danish dealer and partner for the Montalift cranes produced by the Dutch manufacturer Montarent.
JORTON has long used the self-propelled Montalift tower cranes, which are very popular with their employees on construction sites all over the country. The cranes are used both on their own construction projects and also for external customers. JORTON has now rented out a total of 10 units of the self-propelled Montalift cranes. JORTON has also just delivered the world first Montalift M32 4-WDS.
"We are happy with the mobility and flexibility. They can fit into most places and are ready for hoisting in just 20 minutes. As construction sites become familiar with the unique cranes, the demand for them increases" - explains Mads Jensen

Focus on safety
Over the years, JORTON employees have attended several of Fyns Kran Udstyrs courses, as safety always comes first.
"The law states that it is the crane operator's duty and responsibility to ensure that the work is done safely, but if you are sitting in a tower crane, 50 meters above the ground, you do not have a chance on earth to make sure that load is rigged safely.” Mads Jensen continues: "We would strongly recommend the course, as it is important that rigging is done correctly."
