ECM Industries is a 100% family-owned company, which is today owned by Esben and Søren Jaedicke Christiansen. The two brothers have taken care of the operation since 2007 until today, when the factory i.a. supplies to the wind and plastics manufacturing industry, and in addition supplies products to several other customer segments in other industries.
On 1. April 2022, the two brothers have left the mangement to a CEO from outside the family, Bjarne Poulsen, so that the two brothers can now concentrate on their core competences within technology, investment and sales. The company has production facilities in both Kolding and the smaller town Øster Starup where the company was founded.

ECM and Fyns Kran Udstyr; from supplier to business partner
The collaboration between ECM Industries and Fyns Kran Udstyr started several years ago, when a newly purchased crane gave a taste of what Fyns Kran Udstyr could deliver. The good customer experience led to ECM also wanting Fyns Kran Udstyr to be responsible for the statutory inspections of ECM's lifting gear and cranes at the company's two domiciles in Øster Starup and in Kolding.
Søren Jaedicke states; 'We would like our supplier to act as a collaborative partner, where the supplier knows the company, the history and the thinking in the decisions that are taken in the company; it creates just the right synergy in the collaboration". Christian Olesen agrees; "It is important that you can get answers to questions and inquiries quickly, so that you can get on with tasks in a busy everyday life; and at the same time advice in the process is also very important so that we can make the right choices in a changing world"

EasyCert in everyday life
ECM uses EasyCert, which is Fyns Kran Udstyr's online certificate database and tool for managing an overview of inspections of lifting gear. The company's primary purpose is actually not so much to present documentation, but they use it more as a database to form a good overview of what equipment is available at the company's various locations. Christian Olesen states: "It is not every day that we are inside the EasyCert system, but it is used extensively, for example when we are in doubt as to whether we have a lifting magnet in a certain capacity or similar, then the system can is used as a reference, and then we usually go into EasyCert and see if it is something we already have.”
Investment in good ergonomics and a good working environment
Christian Olesen: "We see a general tendency for the items we handle to become heavier and heavier, and at the same time there can also be many pieces in one series of production. Therefore, there are higher and higher requirements to maintain good ergonomics, which also creates a better working environment. An example of this is the latest of the company's many crane systems, which are installed at a couple of the company's edgebanders, which should make the entire handling process easier."
