Within Hydraulic Lifting Equipment, we sell products from e.g. Holmatro, just as we design and develop products ourselves, such as the Machine Jack DK-Jack for lifting e.g. machines and other loads where such unique properties can be used.

This means that we offer a wide selection of different types of Jacks - we have, among other things, hydraulic and mechanical jacks, hydraulic hoses and pumps as well as a hydraulic manifolds, which regulates pressure between pump and Jack. In addition, we also have various aluminum Jacks, which have a low weight, should this be a requirement for a given lifting task.

What rules should you know before buying?

The vast majority of types of Lifting Equipment, like many other product types, are subject to a number of requirements that they must meet. All these requirements are gathered in a number of EU directives, so that you as a user can be sure that the Lifting Equipment you are holding in your hand meets these directives. Lifting Equipment must be CE marked. Often, requirements for the product types we sell will be gathered in the Machinery Directive that applies to machines (including most types of Lifting Equipment). The CE mark shows that the manufacturer has made a promise to meet the requirements set in Europe. In addition, the dealer of the product is also involved - in our case, as a dealer of Lifting Equipment, we must ensure that the products we sell are CE-marked. In addition, we at Fyns Kran Udstyr can also help if you have Lifting Equipment that you would like to obtain the CE mark - we have helped many customers to advise and secure the correct statutory documentation so that existing equipment complies with the applicable rules and legislation on CE -marking Machinery Directive. If you want to learn more about CE marking and see which products are covered, Dansk Standard has created a good homepage.

What rules should you know after purchase?

After purchase, there are a number of rules you must follow in relation to both the use and inspection of Lifting Equipment - these rules are laid down in the The working environment legislation that must be observed at companies and on construction sites. The working environment legislation consists of the Working Environment Act itself which is a framework which lays down the general objectives and requirements in relation to the working environment. The law defines the goal but nothing about the methods and means to comply with these goals. Instructions and notices are drawn up and determined by the Norwegian Working Environment Authority and they provide guidance on how the Working Environment Act and the related decrees are to be interpreted and how to understand the rules in practice.

Main inspection

Once you have familiarized yourself with Working Instructions regarding the use of Lifting Equipment, you have probably also come across the requirement for a 12-month main inspection as laid down in the Norwegian Labor and Welfare Authority's order 1109. If you have not gone through the above meantioned instruction etc., then we have summarized here a short summary. The main inspection must be carried out by the supplier OR another expert: - At least every 12 months, on used equipment before the new owner takes it into use - Or after a long period of storage before the tool is put into use. In connection with the main inspection, the equipment designed for lifting people must be tested with a test load. It is therefore common practice for the inspection to be carried out by the supplier or another service company with similar expert knowledge of the equipment. This inspection must be able to be documented at all times in the form of an inspection report. Errors and deficiencies found during the inspection must be stated and the documentation must always be able to be presented. Do you want to know more about the rules for the statutory inspections of machines, tools and technical aids? So the organization BFA Industri has a good informative homepage.

farvekode løfteudstyr

What do the colors mean that Lifting Equipment is often colored or marked with?

The different colors are often referred to as 'year colours', which indicate which year the Lifting Equipment last was inspected to make it easier for the user to get an indication of this and easily create an overview.

hvad er sikkerhedsfaktor

What is factor of safety?

Safety factor is the largest permissible load and is a factor between WLL or SWL (respectively Working Load Limit and Safe Working Load) and the breaking strength of the equipment. The safety factors are different depending on the type of equipment involved. Contact us to hear about the concept.

Which jack is best for my lifting needs?

At Fyns Kran Udstyr we mainly have three different types of jacks: Hydraulic jacks, mechanical jacks and rack and pinion jacks. There are advantages and disadvantages to each type of jack, and which jack you should choose depends on the lifting task you have to perform. Basically, a jack is a lever that makes it possible to lift heavy objects by hand. The characteristics you need to look out for in a jack are largely the number of kilos or tons it can lift and its lift height. It is always a good idea to use a jack that is approved to lift more kilos than you need it for. That way, you won't overload the jack at any point. However, there are other characteristics that you should also know something about when choosing between the mechanical jack, the hydraulic jack and the pincer jack.

We will therefore list the most important properties of each type of jack below:

Hydraulic jack: Hydraulics is a mechanism that, with the help of liquid in a closed system, can provide a large pressure. The liquid consists of oil, and here it is a pump that sucks oil from a built-in tank. In this way, the pump builds up pressure via one or more cylinders, which helps make the jack capable of lifting heavy elements. Hydraulics are also used in car brakes and help to make it easy to brake without having to use a lot of force each time. The lifting capacity of a hydraulic jack depends largely on the cylinder you choose, and you can find models with between 5 tonnes of lifting capacity and a whopping 100 tonnes of lifting capacity.

Mechanical Jack : A mechanical jack often uses a threaded rod, which is a round metal rod with grooves that are helical. That way, the threaded rod will fit nuts that can be screwed up and down on the rod. A mechanical jack lifts by a lever adjusting the threaded rod and moving the lifting part of the jack. Mechanical jacks can generally lift between 10 to 25 tons.

Rack-and-pinion jack: This type of jack is also called “coffee grinders” and it is probably because of the way the handle has to be rotated in a circle in order for you to lift a given element with the jack. This type of jack has previously been used, for example, to change wheels on a tractor. Most types of rack and pinion jacks can lift between 1.5 tonnes and up to 10 tonnes. A large part of the difference between the various jacks is the size, weight and amount of space you need to lift with the jack.

You can click on the individual product pages for more specific information about a given product. If you still have questions, you are of course welcome to contact us directly. What other types of lifting equipment should I know about? If you have a hydraulic jack, components such as hydraulic hoses and hydraulic pumps are important parts that must be of good quality so that you can ensure the pressure of your jack during lifting. Other types of lifting equipment are transport rollers, which can also help transport heavy loads without straining your back or performing other inappropriate lifts. If you need more knowledge or good advice to choose the right equipment in relation to the tasks at your workplace, we offer, among other things, courses in the use of both equipment and gear. Here we can help you understand the legislation, avoid damage and ultimately get the job done as efficiently and safely as possible.

Are you looking for used equipment - then you are probably wondering if we (Fyns Kran Udstyr) sell used equipment? The short answer is no, it is extremely rare that we sell used equipment - this only happens when we 100% know the history of the equipment, where it has been used and in which cases.
