CASE: SCT Transport – a long-term collaboration with a focus on safety and service

For 9 years, SCT and Fyns Kran Udstyr have collaborated on lifting equipment, specially designed lifting yokes and statutory inspections.

Aspects of a successful collaboration

A collaboration on especially specially designed lifting beams is also a relationship of trust, where you have to listen, draw on experiences from similar challenges and together find the best solution. Here, Michael especially mentions the delivery time and customer service as some of the most important factors for why they are still a customer of Fyns Kran Udstyr:

"We also often experience, if we are in a situation where the equipment we need is not on the shelf or can be obtained, then we turn to your rental branch. As a starting point, we would prefer to invest in the equipment, but if there are challenges with the delivery time, it is a good way to try something specific before we invest in it.”

EasyCert provides a unique overview at SCT Transport

Michael B.P. Mangelsen states that it is EasyCert in particular that makes the collaboration with Fyns Kran Udstyr work so well. Michael highlights a particular example of the use of EasyCert: When our crane operator Tom has got a new truck, they have a meeting about what lifting gear to buy for it.

"It is a great advantage that it is so easy. We go to EasyCert, print out a certificate for what is on the old truck, and talk about what should be in on the new truck based on it. Maybe the needs have changed since we last bought; are there some chain slings that need to be shorter and so on.”

Recently Tom got a new Volvo FH 8x4 with 500 horspower and a Fassi 1450 techno crane.
The latest technology gives the crane a completely different geometry and a higher lifting capacity.

Instruction duty is taken to a new level with the Safe Rigging course

In general, SCT focuses a lot on safety being top notch, which is why everyone who works with cranes, drivers and mechanics at the workshop was given the opportunity to participate in a Safe Rigging course at the start of 2023.

They were so happy with the process that from next year they will have a regular annual course, where new employees will have the opportunity to learn or be refreshed on rules and practices in the area.

Even if you are seasoned in the industry, there may still be some areas that could need a refresh. Michael continues:

"There isn't a single person who has taken part in the course who hasn't thought afterwards: Okay, I also got something out of it. Maybe I wasn't so aware of that anymore, or maybe it had been forgotten.
