What is a jib crane?
A jib crane is a type of crane that can swing (or slew) around the crane's vertical axis. The crane is usually permanently mounted, but in special cases it can also be movable. Jib cranes have countless applications but are often seen at workstations in industry.
Pillar jib crane: Flexible lifting power up to 2,000 kg
A pillar jib crane is the ideal solution when you need a dedicated lifting point at a specific workstation, e.g. at a CNC machine or an assembly line. The pillar is mounted securely in the floor, either on a cast foundation or a heavy-duty base plate, which gives the crane a slewing range of up to 360 degrees. One of our most popular models is a 500 kg pillar jib crane with a 4-metre outreach, which covers the vast majority of needs for handling workpieces in light and medium-sized industry. However, we supply pillar jib cranes with capacities from 125 kg and all the way up to more than 2,000 kg.
Wall-mounted jib crane: A space-saving solution for production
If floor space is limited, or if you want to make use of existing building structures, a wall-mounted jib crane is the obvious choice. This type of jib crane is mounted directly on a load-bearing wall or an existing building column. This frees up valuable floor space and ensures that forklift traffic and other logistics are not obstructed by a crane pillar. A wall-mounted jib crane typically has a slewing range of 180 to 270 degrees. Just like our pillar models, a 500 kg wall-mounted jib crane is a common and highly effective solution that can easily be fitted with an electric chain hoist or a vacuum lifter for optimal ergonomics.
What are the rules for jib cranes?
You can read more about legislation and rules concerning jib cranes on the Danish Working Environment Authority's website. Among other things, the Danish Working Environment Authority has specific rules and requirements concerning installation and the annual statutory inspection, as well as the more thorough 10-year inspection. When you buy a jib crane from us or have the statutory inspection carried out by us, we of course ensure that all applicable rules are complied with. Read more about the rules on the Danish Working Environment Authority's website. Or read more about why Danish companies choose us for crane service.
Do you sell used jib cranes?
At Fyns Kran Udstyr, we do not sell used jib cranes. Although our view is of course coloured by the fact that we sell new crane solutions, you should carefully consider the purchase of a used solution. One indication of its condition can be when the statutory inspection was last carried out. At the same time, it can be difficult to know the crane's history.
Are jib cranes the only type of crane you supply?
No! Definitely not - start by taking a look at our overview of cranes. You will quickly discover that we can help with almost all types of cranes for almost all types of businesses. We look forward to hearing more about your project!
