CASE: The right chain for the right task - visit to the construction site at TC Anlæg

At Fyns Kran Udstyr, we often visit our customers, we gain knowledge about the types of lifting jobs they have and how we can develop lifting gear in the best possible way going forward, so that we can meet our customers' wishes and needs. This time we visited one of our customers in the construction industry; the company TC Anlæg.

At TC Anlæg in Odense, there is a strong focus on using the right equipment for their lifting needs on the construction site. It is often very large and heavy objects that are maneuvered around, and therefore the safety of the lifting gear must be top notch.

TC Anlæg
The company was founded in 2002 by Torben Clausen, and it has since developed into a strong contractor and business partner that can oversee the execution of complicated environmental, construction and construction projects. TC Anlæg has its head office in Odense and employs approximately 60 employees, but carries out work throughout Denmark.

At the construction site
Fyns Kran Udstyr visits TC Anlæg at the construction site at Bolbro in Odense, Denmark, where sewerage and contractor work is to be carried out from 1 January to expectedly 1 April. Today's job was to submerge some large boxes, which must hold the ground on the sides, so that there will be a 'workplace' for the employees who must work on assembling and changing pipes. We talk to Jacob Juel Jensen, who drives the machine that will submerge the large boxes.

The chain sling must be able to last for a life on the construction site
Jacob Juel Jensen says that great emphasis is placed on solid chain slings that can withstand the work with the large digging boxes, as there is often a lot of pressure and jerks in the chain slings when digging boxes and other heavy elements have to be submerged, are turned or moved. Each machine on the construction site has its own chain sling of different types of chain slings, which follow the individual machine and which the machine in question uses for the various lifting and work jobs. "There must be chain slings that can withstand both lifting and pulling, as we typically have jobs that require with both lifting and pulling on the construction site", says Jacob Juel Jensen. Fyns Kran Udstyr supplies various types of chains and chain slings to TC Anlæg, which they use in their work, such as on the construction site in Bolbro in Odense, and in addition they also occasionally have special chain slings manufactured for special jobs.

The right chain
It is a hard life for the chains on the construction site, and therefore it does not matter what types of chain and chain slings are used at TC Anlæg; they must be of high quality so that they can cope with the many different lifts, pulls and the harsh working environment on the construction site. The chains must be able to withstand the hard life on the construction site, and as Jacob Juel Jensen states "it must be the right chain for the right task."

Hear Jacob tell more about which lifting gear and what it is used for in everyday life in this short video:

Personal safety with fall protection

In addition to chains, chain slings and various types of textile slings, TC Anlæg also uses fall protection equipment in connection with their work; for example well work. Fyns Kran Udstyr has a large selection of fall protection harnesses, lines and tripods, which are precisely the type of fall protection equipment used in connection with work in wells.

At TC Anlæg, safety is a big part of everyday life, where lifting and safety equipment are important elements when the many different jobs on the construction site have to be solved.
