Product description
Container deck lashing fitting with fork end
The 135 degree elephant foot with fork is a lashing fitting for securing containers on ships. The foot is inserted into a deck socket, such as a cloverleaf type welded into the ship deck. The fork at the top is the connection point for the lashing chain, turnbuckle or other securing equipment. The 135 degree geometry matches the working angle of diagonal lashings on container decks.
- 20 tonne capacity with 4:1 safety factor and 80 tonne MBL
- Foot inserts into deck socket welded into the ship deck
- Fork end for connecting lashing chains, turnbuckles or equivalent equipment
- 135 degree angle suited for diagonal lashing of containers
How it works in practice
The fitting is part of the complete lashing system on container ships, where the foot locks into the deck socket and the fork connects to the rest of the lashing assembly. The 135 degree angle provides the correct line of force from deck to container so the load is distributed as intended. The fitting is for cargo securing and lashing only and must never be used for lifting.
