How the chain sling is used
The lifting point must be placed vertically above the load's centre of gravity. Hooks must always have a safety latch. An edge counts as sharp when its radius is equal to or smaller than the chain diameter, and edge protection must be used at sharp edges. Before use, check that the chain is not elongated by more than 5 % of its nominal length and that wear on the chain parts does not exceed 10 %. Do not use the chain sling with twists or knots. Do not use it in acidic environments. A chain sling that has been exposed to overload or high heat must not be used. Lifting gear must be inspected at least every 12 months or in accordance with applicable regulations.
